Acupuncture

Acupuncture at all about health & wellness

Acupuncture has been used for more than 3000 years as a part of traditional Chinese medicine, and involves the insertion of fine, sterile needles into specific points on the body.

Is acupuncture right for me?
Acupuncture is beneficial for practically everybody! There are only a few conditions that preclude you from having acupuncture, e.g. bleeding disorders, like hemophilia.
What exactly is acupuncture?
Stimulation of the body's own internal pharmacy. We have lots of natural chemicals that are released as a result of acupuncture stimulation that are beneficial to our health, e.g. endorphins; one of our natural pain relievers which are released with acupuncture stimulation.
When is acupuncture needed?
At varying stages of any given condition, whether a condition is acute, like a recently sprained ankle, or whether it's used for long standing back pain.

Where is acupuncture used?
Points are stimulated via very fine needles placed into ‘meridians’ (lines of points) in the body, e.g. some points for pain and relief of swelling to an ankle are actually located at the knee!
Why get acupuncture?
Effectiveness. There are many clinical trials and evidence based information that validates the use of acupuncture. For the scientists out there, this information is available from us upon request.
How is acupuncture used?
Treatments with acupuncture may take 20–30 minutes and up to eight needles in place. Often the worst side effect is falling asleep.

John has been practicing acupuncture for 15 years, and uses it as an important form of relief for many common aches and pains.
